Dear Director,

There is an reported war being waged for nearly 25 years by the Sri Lankan government to kill the Tamils in their homeland and to suppress their struggle for freedom and economic development. I must congratulate Channel 4 and their reporters for a hazardous journey undertaken in the teeth of government opposition and at great personal risk to bring to the world's attention this unreported genocide in your programme, 'Unreported World - Sri Lanka - Killing for Peace' of 9th November 2007.

The West has correctly identified Mugabe and the Sudanese government as engaging in despicable acts of terror against their own people. But Mahinda Rajapakse, the President of Sri Lanka, is continuing to commit even greater acts of terror and ethnic cleansing on a mass scale with planes, tanks, bombs and shells supplied by Israel, Pakistan, China, India and the West. But the West remains indifferent to the tragedy that is unfolding by virtue of their tacit complicity.

We can discount the role of the pariah state of Israel in this murderous collusion. It is the people and politicians of Britain, USA, India and China who should examine their consciences seeking to destroy a highly educated and sophisticated nation of Tamils who have lived separately for thousands of years in the island of Sri Lanka. The UN, the EU and other similar organisations are expressing their concerns at the humanitarian crimes committed by the Sri Lankan government against innocent Tamil civilians. But they appear toothless to stop the President of Sri Lanka and his brothers who operate as a ruthless mafia to wipe out the Tamils.

Thank you Channel 4 and reporter Sandra Jordan and director Siobhan Sinnerton for daring to report the truth in a war considered unfashionable by other media outlets to report. It is only now, ninety two years after the Turks decimated the Armenians in a genocidal onslaught, is the USA giving official credence to this massive blight on the human conscience. Just how long will it take for the world to recognise the obliteration of the Sri Lankan Tamils by the fascist Sinhalese government of Sri Lanka done under the guise of a war on terror.
