IF THE OLDER DEMOCRACY ( SINCE 1931 OR 1948 ) OF SRI LANKA IS SO GOOD, WHY DOES MAHINDA RAJAPAKSE BOAST THAT ITS WORTH STUDYING ABOUT THE INDIAN FEDERAL SYSTEM, when he visited India recently ?

" Lankawata Harima Ledak Bowuna, Anne mage Emily Pane ! Biwa nethe vathaka suthiya.....Biwwa nethe vathaka suthiya "

Where was Ceylon/ SL when it got one man one vote system of democracy and where is she now ?

What have the Sinhala Buddhist leaders been doing since 1948 to treasure such older democracy ?

What Mangla is telling is " Sellama Aayth Patangamu " ; let us the start the game again ! Such as the LSSP leaders like NM Perera used to tell the Jaffna electorate, the SL democracy is like that of " merry go round " in a fun fair. Periodical elections and pleasure trips for the leaders.

 Regards

 Sharanya
